Sweet brioche question

hello! I enjoy baking and selling the goods I make at school and right now I’m on a brioche kick. I am planning on making a Nutella brioche by rolling out the strands of dough, spreading some Nutella on there, making it a log and then braiding it (I do 4 strand usually) and I was thinking of topping them with hazelnuts. My main question is if I should put chopped raw hazelnuts on it after the egg wash right before I put the bread in the oven or toast the nuts separately and once I glaze the bread sprinkle them on top. My concern is if I did it before baking they would burn. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I have baked banana bread topped with a variety of nuts, and they don't burn at 350 baked for about an hour. Most of the brioche loafs/breadstuffs that I've baked have been at that temp. I would expect hazelnuts to toast up nicely at 350.

If you are concerned, your suggestion to toast separately and top after should work. They may not stick to the top as well, however.
