TFL Amazon Storefront

Floyd, I just noticed the link to the TFL Amazon Storefront. I don't know if it was there before or if it's part of the upgrade.

Anyway, what I'm wondering is: does the site get a benefit if we make purchases that way? I'd like to know, because if it helps you, I will make all of my Amazon baking book purchases through the link. And I'm sure others here will want to do the same.

Disclaimer: I have no business or financial relationship with, or interest in, Linens-n-Things.

My wife and I saw an ad for the Linens-n-Things store closing sale and stopped in to see what they had.  The store nearest us was already pretty picked over, but there were still some really good buys (40%-70% off) on the items that were still on hand.  We saw cookware, cutlery, KA mixers and other kitchen items, mostly with 40% markdowns.  Linens were nearly gone.

Kitchen Scale - Please recommend

Having gone through 3 of these in the last few months I've decided that before I make the same mistake again, I'd try and get some recommendations for a good digital kitchen scale.

(2 generic ones from the local DIY store which both broke within a month followed by one from Salter which never worked to begin with - the sales assistant later admitted that they've had trouble with the model)

Twice as Good at About Half the Price

Folks have made a few comments recently about their love of "kitchen gadgets" so I decided to post about my almost new kitchen calculator. Imagine my surprise when I went to the source (Lee Valley Tools) and discovered that the price had dropped from $30 to $16.50. I'm twice as happy to recommend it now. Go to:

and have a look-see.

Want a Hearthkit?

I've got one I'll give to anyone who either wants to come get it or who will pay shipping, which could be substantial (this thing is heavy). It's well used, and could stand a good cleaning, which is simple: you just put it in the oven on the clean cycle. I, alas, can't do that because, since I've moved to Corvallis, OR, the oven in my new home is too small for it.

If you're interested, just email me: jfrankmiller@gmail.com

Thanks!

oil mister?

Anybody have a good recommendation for an oil mister? I've had a few different models but none were super good, I want one with a good spray--and figured folks here might have tried some. I like to make pita chips etc and it would be handy (and healthier) to just mist them with olive oil--right now I use a brush....

Thanks in advance!
