500g flour = what size tin?

Just using a recipe that calls for 2x 500g flour tins.
No idea what this means, never seen a bread tin advertised like that.

Just wondered if someone could point me in the right direction?

Greatly appreciate your help!

That is a very vague term, after all do they mean tins that will hold dough made from 500g of flour, or a total dough weight of 500g?  My guess would be that they mean the latter. Is the recipe from a book? Sometimes, somewhere in a book there will be explanations of tin sizes used.

I think you would be best to work out the total dough weight of your recipe, then work out the appropriate size tins.

Really appreciate your help, it is a book recipe yes! Did not even think to consult it and check. Will do that now. I think you are probably correct in your answer though. After dividing the dough between the two and letting it rise, it seems that I probably needed smaller tins. Which is a little annoying, but we live and learn with bread, don't we?

Again, Thanks for taking the time to help me out. Will consult the book and report back my findings.
