I bet your students left happy.
It's a Christmas staple around here. I'm checking my butter inventory now.

And even more flour. Gotta stay faithful to my workout routine if I want to avoid becoming a Santa Claus clone.
Yes, the students were happy.

A few years ago while still in AL I made 2 chocolate babkas. They were outstanding but so rich! My teeth still hurt in memory lol.
Yours are stunning. It’s wonderful that you are still teaching others and tackling such complex recipes. 🙏c
Babkas can be very rich, can't they? I've deliberately dialed back the fat and sugar content for this version, so it is mildy (rather than wildly) sweet and the chocolate flavor is more intense.
Teaching is a treat and it gives me more opportunities to bake, so it's a win-win.

Any bakery would be proud of that, Paul - it looks spot on.

Every now and then the stars align and I turn out something that's actually pretty. The predecessors, while not so photogenic, all tasted wonderful.

That's a beaut Paul.
For those not around these parts long enough or were taking a sabbatical several years ago, Dan Ayo held a Community Bake on Babka. If Paul's creation doesn't give you sufficient inspiration, then perhaps reviewing the link here will.

Both for the compliment and for the reminder of the community bake.
