I found a few of my saved packets. I used to make these particular recipes a lot. I made the Pumpernickel so often that I wrote it out and had tossed the packet because it had fallen apart. 1977-78.

would have dated the packages, even if I hadn’t seen the “best by” dates. The recipes still look interesting.

Always butter though. The Turtle Rye and orange palm leaves I made a lot. The pumpernickel is wonderful but it’s written and I tossed the packets many years ago due to stains!
I have huge binders full of saved recipes . I’m going to start remaking some of them as a memorial of sorts. Especially holiday recipes.

Really enjoyed seeing these recipes. What is the ring recipe with the sour cream and pecans? Would love to see the written pumpernickel recipe too!
Now . I use way less and let things rise longer. 1 packet = 2 1/2 tsp I’m sure that’s plenty.
Thank you for sharing!
Noted on yeast advice - will do. Much loved pumpernickel recipe that I am looking forward to trying.
Tea ring - thanks! Love sour cream as an ingredient.
I really enjoy seeing recipes on older packaging. I have a few I still use on some old spice tins. Many out of fashion, but they are still enjoyable.
Please post pictures when you make these. I used to make that pumpernickel all the time. Haven’t made it in years. It’s on my to do list 😊🙏
Will do. Pumpernickel will be first up with rye flour and caraway seeds on the shopping list already. Looking forward to how this turns out!
