My 100% Rye bread

Here is my first rye sourdough bread! It's 100% rye.

I fully enjoy this flavorful bread! It has moist and soft crumb and delicious crust.

I made one loaf, so I used half the quantities in the recipe.

I will also use it to make bread drink - kvass. Its very popular in Russia and Ukraine. It has been one of the favorite drinks there for centuries. I was born in Ukraine and used to drink it all the time. Now, will make one of my own!

Isn't it wonderful, to make your own bread and then use it to make your own kvass?

That is one fine looking rye loaf. 100% whole rye to-boot. Looks delicious and it's going to make great Kvass.

top and the open crumb show that it was lroofed perfectly.    Very well done indeed!  You grew up on this and other rye breads - Glad you can make your own now!

I love rye so I can imagine how tasty this loaf must be.

Great taste! And what I like about the recipe: nice schedule for baking it for a weekend dinner. Large amount of levain - overnight, by the morning - ready to be mixed with the rest of ingredients and then right to a tin to proof. So by the late morning my loaf is in the oven. And it is ready for the dinner!

That's a beautiful loaf! Definitely one of my favorite breads is 100% rye and yours looks perfectly done.

This is very awesome!

You give me great motivation. I am still working on my Sourdough Starters and it's a fun challenge.

That bread is just wow. It tells a story like a photography (infinity).

I made a similar recipe recently and it was delicious, and much easier than I expected.

Keep us informed about your progress in making kvass.

I agree, its such an uncomplicated recipe with such tasty result! :-)
