Home Baking-The Artful Mix of Flour and Tradition Around the World

This is my baking bible, but I think it is only available in Canada.Too bad. You might have a bookseller to get it for you, but it would be quicker to go to chapters.ca. This is a collection of recipes from all over the world, crackers, a few pastries, but mostly breads that ordinary people eat.

This is the third in series of books the authors have done that combine three of my passions-food, travel, and photograpy. These are books you take to bed with you and savour not ony the foods of the places they have visited, but the people they have met.
I just got their newest one which is called Mangoes and Curry Leaves and is about the peoples foods of the Indian subcontinent. My wife thinks that she should be wearing a sari lately.

Available in The US

This book can be ordered from Amazon.com
Must be a rather large book because it weighs 5.3lbs.
All the reviews are great.

Excellent Book

I agree with the review of this work entirely. The content is fascinating as well as extremely useful - I have never baked anything from this book that did not turn out marvelously. I recommend this work to anyone for the enlightenment it offers if not for the numerous and varied (and interesting) recipes. I found my copy at Barnes & Noble in Pittsburgh so it is definitely available in the states at standard retailers as well as at Amazon.com.
