Is my banneton ruined?

I am a relatively new bread baker and I got a banneton for Christmas. I had it sitting on the counter and unbeknownst to me, there was a small cup of apple cider vinegar sitting nearby. Somehow it got knocked over and soaked everything around it, including my banneton! By the time I found out, it had soaked through and was visibly wet across the whole bottom, inside as well as outside. I rinsed it in cool water several times, but of course it still smells like vinegar! :-( is there anything I can do to save it?! I don’t want to make bread only to have it smell or taste like vinegar!

Vinegar is often used to sanitize bannetons.  You can even find dough recipes that include vinegar that isn't tasted  so do not worry.  Let it dry well on a rack so air can circulate underneath before using.
