Whole Grains, Cute Duckies, and Grossness

Whole grain breads are the next big thing, or so I keep hearing. Marketers are obviously extremely hot on it, but I haven't met anyone particularly enthused about the movement or seen an outbreak of whole grain bakeries appear yet.

Beware: whole grain bread contains more pesticide residues than any other bread type, or so a new study says. Yet another reason to buy organic flour.

If the all of the other buzz about whole grains doesn't convince you that it is the next big food fad, then this ought to: Whole Wheat Wonder Bread. Pepperidge Farms is getting into the whole grain game too. How long before you can get a Big Mac on a whole grain bun?

The Seattle Weekly ran a cover story on the bread scene in that town. Included was comparison of the different grains and techniques used by the different bakeries.

Only somewhat bread related, but too funny to pass up: three old ladies in England have been threatened with a fine for feeding bread to ducks near an outdoor swimming pool.

And finally... Ew. That's all I'm going to say, aside from "FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, PEOPLE, DON'T EAT THE PACKAGING!" Only click if you have a strong stomach.
