Hi, Saintdennis.

If purchasing cookbooks or getting them from your library is an option, "Bread" by Jeffrey Hamelman has lots of German ryes, and "Local Breads" by Daniel Leader has many German and Czech ryes. I've made several Czech breads from Leader's book. If you pay attention to some of his errors in measurement, the breads are terrific - among my favorites.

for German Schwarzbrot you find here, scroll down and than I baked the Czech Country Bread from Daniel Leaders new book, here is the recipe. The Seeded Rye Bread is also a typical bread for Germany.

Hi. Does anyone have a recipe for Hausbrot. A type of Rye Bread. I was buying it from some of the shops, but I can't track down who now sells it now . So with the help of one of the members and their recipe, I'll be able to make my own. Thank you. Regards Jan.
