Lucy's Fruit Stupid -Version 2

Here is Lucy's latest version of here fruit stupid.  The black plumbs were replaced by empire prune plumbs, the Nutella was replaced by mini chocolate chips and pecan pieces, the bread crust was replaced by a short crust pastry and the berries were replaced by nectarines and peaches.

She also chucked in some apple slices to separate the plums om top.  So this one is totally different except for the spiral design with the plums on top.  We sprinkled turbinado sugar on top and then glazed it with some thinned out, home made, Minneola marmalade.

It was baked at 400 F for 20 minutes and then turned down to 350 F and baked another 30 minutes.  We expect this one to be even better than Lucy's first attempt at being fruit stupid but will have to wait until dinner dessert to find out for sure.  Lucy is trying to make up for snarfing down that Fat Bag loaf yesterday.

Lucy did put 1/3 C of brown sugar and some pumpkin pie spices; 1 teaspoon,  in the peach and nectarine layer .

Here is a new slice shot.

will steal your bread faster than you can say Sourdough:-) But she doens't get any of it unless she steals it ....so maybe that is the problem!  She dreams all of these recipes up and then doesn't get any.....

Glad you liked the stone fruit pie and

Happy baking

Sure looks yummy!

or cold with whipped cream or room temperature plain all work I'm guessing.  I'm trying to eat too many of these sugar bombs but being weak and stupid is a bad mix :-)

Glad you liked it Mini

Lucy has already made a change to it though....putting the fruit mix on the bottom the nut and chocolate in the middle and leaving the plums and apples on top..  She was going to use walnuts but I told her Ian likes pecans better.  Very tasty  - you would like it.

This looks amazing, I'll go for this over the nutella one, this must be delicious!  Well done Lucy, love the idea of adding pumpkin pie spices, I must be able to find that in London...... Really crave a slice of this now!

2T Saigon cinnamon, 1 tsp each of dried ginger, nutmeg and allspice with 1/2 tsp of ground clove.  It costs to much to buy it already made. Don't forget to put the fruit on the bottom and the nut / chocolate chip mix on top of that rather than the way we showed in the post.  The chocolaty goo oozing though the fruit would be another special treat rather than just sitting on the bottom.  Lucy is the master of being a little fruit stupid and concocting desserts that fit her disposition and what she has on hand.  A great way to use up fruits you you can buy some more:-)  Glad you liked the post and

 Happy baking

dabrownman:  This looks fab.  Another great job by Lucy.  I liked her other desserts as well.  I am going to have to start dinner soon, as looking at David's pizza, all the terrific breads and your dessert is putting me over the edge. Thanks for sharing.  Great pics, too. Best,  Phyllis

She is crazy about it and has already started working on a non CA stone fruit version since they are now going out of season - leaving honey crisp apples.  Pizza with fruit stupid sounds like heaven and the perfect combo!  Glad you liked the post and
