Neat, and tasty looking.  I think I'll try those as soon as I have a chance.  Is it correct that soaking the dates in the boiling water is how date molasses are made?

We see so much European style bread here, a little variety is nice

date molasses is (thick syrup made from pressed dates,we use it a lot in cooking and baking specially in traditional dessert.
you can find it in Arabic specialty shops.

We really don't have Arabic specialty shops here in Alaska, but we do have 2 or 3 Halal grocery stores ...I wonder if they carry the date molasses?  I'll have to check...

If you don't have or know the date syrup, use maple syrup or molasses instead of the date syrup. But you well end up with a different taste; it's ok to tray something different and come out with a new taste.

My favorite breakfast is pancake with date syrup ,

Another way to serve with Arabic khobiz (flat bread or pita bread) by mixing date syrup with tahini paste (made from crushed sesame seeds) so tasty, it's like the American style when it comes to peanut butter and jam.

Try it, and hope you like the taste.

Beautiful looking bread! And I like the cardamom pods in tea! I'll have to bake some of this as soon as my oven is repaired.

I am thinking that I got something wrong, though. Perhaps the kind of rose water I used was too strong, because the infusion of perfume is so strong it pretty much overwhelms everything else that's going on in the bread.

But I assume the dates get chopped before going in the dough.

Also, would using pomegranite molasses instead of date syrup be an abomination?

Would Date molasses be the same thing as date syrup? I can't seem to find it anywhere and know of no locations near me where I can find some date molasses. I do, however, have lots of dates and a recipe for date molasses. Your bread looks so delicious that I would really like to try it! Would date syrup produce a similar result?
