Orwasher's Bakery

A friend, colleague and fellow Loafer just came back from a trip to New York and sent me a link to Orwasher's Bakery on the Upper East Side.  The breads looked incredible, especially the wine-infused breads. There are a few very nice videos as well at http://www.orwashers.com/

I was wondering if anyone had anything to share about their experience with this bakery. Maybe Paul K can give us a brief report when he has the time :)

I wrote to ask if they would ever consider a cookbook, and a very nice woman named Jessica said she would offer the suggestion.  I surely hope so! I would love to try my hand at a few of those breads.

Wow...I have to go and check them out when I'm in the city next year.  Funny thing the first wine bread I viewed on their site mentions being inspired by Channing Daughter's winery which is one of my favorite winery's on Long Island where I live.  I actually posted a bread I made using wine from a different local winery so I would love to get a taste of their breads.

Thanks for posting.

I see Paul has already posted about his visit in a different thread. I should have known he couldn't resist :))
