Is there such a thing as too many chocolate chips?

Today I made the egg free banana bread that is posted on this forum.  I've made this recipe several times but today I must've made some mistake because the bread just fell apart.  I honestly think I used too many chocolate chips!  Has this ever happened to you?

I once made chocolate chip cookies that my kids refused to eat saying they were too chocolaty.   Now that I cut chocolate by a quarter and switched from Ghirardelli to Nestle they can't have enough of them.

That might be the recipe I posted.  It's from allrecipes.com.  If it is, I can say that it has happened that the slices come apart.  But I usually add more banana, less oil and some vanilla, so my tweaks may be the cause here.  Generally I find that recipe to be perfect for us - I can change it around and it's always delicious.

Sorry, reading my answer I realize it's not much help, but I hope your banana bread tasted great.

But I didn't tweak them that way this time - the recipe calls for oil or butter and I usually just use applesauce but this time I didn't.  But I really do think it was the chocolate chips - if the chips are all bunched together, the bread falls apart there.  Too much of a good thing, once again.  :)
