TFL Amazon Storefront

Floyd, I just noticed the link to the TFL Amazon Storefront. I don't know if it was there before or if it's part of the upgrade.

Anyway, what I'm wondering is: does the site get a benefit if we make purchases that way? I'd like to know, because if it helps you, I will make all of my Amazon baking book purchases through the link. And I'm sure others here will want to do the same.

Hi Phyl,

The Amazon storefront has been up for... about 2 hours now.  I just put it together.

Yes, Amazon purchases made through there (or any of the other Amazon links on the site) do give me a cut of sales.  Typically those sales bring in right about the same amount a month to as the hosting fees for this site cost, so it works out very nicely.

Thanks, Floyd. That's kind of what I figured. Just thought I'd do my part and give a little PSA to make sure everyone was aware of it.

I'm been toying with picking up the 5-minute bread book. You just made it too easy! Thanks.

Sure thing.  Let me know if there is other gear or books that you (or anyone else) find indispensable and I can add it to the list.

Not exactly sure how that works but as I have a pretty hefty order of Christmas gifts sitting in my Amazon shopping cart, if I check out through the TFL link, does that mean the TFL will benefit?

If the items are already in your cart, I think not, but I'm not certain.  Might as well try.

What about if we click on a link here to go to Amazon but then buy books unrelated to the ads on this site? Do you still benefit from those sales also?

Yes.   Not just books but most anything they sell there, even digital cameras and laptops.  All that matters is that the shopping session begins by clicking through to Amazon from a tagged link here.

I don't get any information on who purchased what, but I do get to see what people bought after clicking through Amazon links on TFL.  That can be fun.  Obvious things like the BBA and baking stones sell most often, but plenty of other odd things pass through.  Like yesterday I earned a small commission on the sale of a Collapsible Stainless Steel Emergency Shovel and a  Crazy Cluck Wacky Chicken!  Thank you, to whoever purchased those.

The Fresh Loaf tagged Amazon URLs have "froglallabout-20" in them.  This is because we set the Amazon Affiliate account up originally for my wife's site, Frogland (allaboutfrogs.org).   That site has hardly been updated in 4 or 5 years, but, amazingly, it still comes up #1 when you Google for "frogs".  That said, the site is older than Google.
