Pain a l'Ancienne baguettes

Baked these this morning for dinner at a cousin's home.  They paired very nicely with the smoked whitefish pate and with the fish chowder.

Especially since shaping amounts to cutting the dough in strips and stretching it out.  Plenty of variety that way.

We left MI the afternoon of Christmas Day because of the ice storm that was forecast to hit on Thursday.  That turned out to be a great decision because we had clear sailing all the way to KS.  Our CO kids should arrive in the next couple of hours, so we’ll enjoy Christmas with them a couple of days after the fact.
