Was given a startere
A person in town gave me a 100 year old San Francisco strain called Bella.
I am not new and there is a ton of info here. Can anyone give me a should catch first video on preserving this starter so I don't kill it.
Thanks,
Don

Food52, Joshua Weissman, Breadtopia, Cultures For Health, and King Arthur Flour are reputable sources.
Dn, I highly recommend dehydrating some of your starter as a backup. That way is something goes wrong during your learning process to can always restore the original from your backup.

"... restore the original from your backup." <--- That phrase is a dead give-away of an I.T. guy!

Don: Dan's advice is wise. See https://breadtopia.com/drying-sourdough-starter-for-long-term-storage/ for a video on dehydrating starter.
To revive a dried or dehydrated starter, see: https://breadtopia.com/faq/how-to-reactivate-dehydrated-starter/ for their written instructions, and here: https://breadtopia.com/starter_instructions/ for a video.

You are correct!
