My first ciabatta attempt

I had my first go at making ciabatta this weekend, using the biga version from The Bread Baker's Apprentice. It came out pretty well, good shape and flavor, but it wasn't quite there. Specifically, it lacked the nice big holes in the crumb. Any thoughts on what I should do next time around to achieve that?
