Pain au Levain with Whole Wheat
I've seen several folks on this board and on Instagram do this loaf so I thought I'd give it a try.
I think they came out very well - both crust and crumb. I can certainly improve on my slashing skills but am otherwise satisfied with these loaves.

enough to eat and it haw to be tasty with the W in there! Well done and happy baking
It certainly was a tasty loaf. My kids were all over it and even my 2nd toughest critic (my wife) loved it!
it looks great. Apparently Maestro Hamelman's Pain au Levain is the bread-of-the-month around here. Everything about it looks really good.
Alfonso, I've seen a lot of posts this month for this loaf as well. I'm guessing that it's due to instagram's bread club (http://iconosquare.com/tag/igbreadclub). I've been a 'member' for a while and it's a really good group that loves to bake and encourage one another with tips and pictures.
It was started by a member called "thebreadkiln" earlier this year and really taken off with each new 'bread of the month'.
