We 3 gmas made "donuts"

We had fun bringing in the New Year... reminiscing about the old one... (the year, not one of us!)... and making donuts while watching the Rose Bowl Parade from satellites and TVs spread halfway across the country... fun times... Barb's donuts and apple fritters lead us in... appropriately since she is our lead baker! She continues to lead us down the path of flour, water, salt and yeast... sourdough and all imaginable good stuff!

Here are her other pictures...

Those look good enough to eat!!! Maybe too good... no calories, because we used them all up making them and frying them.

Helen was a raised donut virgin prior to this week... truly... she had lots of experience with cake donuts, her pumpkin spice donuts are famous in the greater Ft. Worth area... as are her breads, especially her blueberry zucchini bread... but that is another post, or several!

Here is the proof that she will be known for these now too... Donuts and knots, the red ones are for the Rose Parade! Clever that sister of ours!!!

 YUMMM

It looks like it snowed in my kitchen, I used a beignet dough and make fried apple pies and folded plain beignets... all dusted with a liberal snowing of powered sugar... I made 3 ginormous apple fritters and the rest were a much more edible size...

This was a very fine bake, a lot of fun... a lot to digest... and share... I have three happy neighbors and Barb and Helen have kids and grandkids in euphoria!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL, AND HAPPY BAKING IN 2015

Nice to see the 3gmas posting and sharing their bakes and stories.  Sure have missed the three of you.  These all look very good.  Yummy!! is an understatement.  The Rose Parade red knots are very clever.  Here's wishing the three of you a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year and baking 2015.

donuts look spectacular!  It seems that donuts are the one vice Lucy and I don;t yet have when it comes to baking :-)  I can see where they could be habit forming and thigh thickening.....We really need to learn how to make these things!

Happy baking together in 2015

And I find it very relaxing, standing by my deep frying pan, making all those doughnuts.  Yours look so good, I may just make some of my own.  Happy New Baking Year!
