Chocolate Sourdough Bread
Sharing with you guys my production from this past weekend, turned out great, I did not expect to like this bread as much as I did. Not overly sweet, very complex flavor
I include a link to Farine's blog, in case anyone would like to try the recipe

That looks delicious! Those chocolate boules catch my eye every time someone posts one. I keep thinking I must try it, I am not sure whether I would like the flavour or not, and keep putting it off. But that looks so beautiful, what do you partner it with?
....
and this morning my husband had a slice slightly warmed up for his breakfast. The rest was sliced and taken to the department, I've got some pretty happy feedback from colleagues ;-)
make so great bread pudding too! Some kind of department is very lucky indeed. Welll done and
Happy Baking
That looks like a birthday loaf.
and also a pretty nice Valentine's Day celebration loaf, I think...
that is a prerequisite.
Funny but traditional raisin black bread is colored with dark cocoa, as is Pepperidge Farms' German Dark Wheat. Neither are sweet or taste remotely chocolatey.
Last summer I was lucky enough to find Hershey's 100% Dutched Dark Cocoa at Walmart. The stuff was black as coal, it made my pastries distinctively inky looking. Too bad it is no longer on the market, all they offer now is 50% Dutched, it's not very dark. With the 100%, it would just take a pinch to color a loaf, without having to add sugar to offset the bitterness.
I like the idea of bread pudding, I have to give it a go I think.
Beautiful looking bread.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards
Ian
