Common rye flour brand?
I'm curious what are the more common brands of rye flour available in U.S. grocery stores.
Where I live, piedmont area of North Carolina, about the only rye flour brand I see in supermarkets is Hodgson's stoneground whole rye. I think once in a while I may have seen Bob's Red Mill brand, but I'm not sure. But, besides these two brands, I don't see any other common brands in the mainstream grocery stores.

Hay thihal123, You have an outstanding flour source in your back yard and this is where I get my flour. I live just north of you in Virginia. They are open 7 days a week and are wonderful to deal with. In fact I need to go there this weekend.

Come to think of it, I think I have seen their products at the local Kroger and Harris Teeter...EXCEPT, those two supermarkets don't carry whole grain versions from Old Mill of Guilford. :-( They do carry whole grain versions from King Arthur and Bob's Red Mill.
al the large chain grocery stores pulled rye off the shelf because it wasn't selling. Even sprouts took it out of the bins Now the only place you can by white rye flour is at Winco Foods in their bins, they have white spelt too or you have to pay the high price at Whole Foods. That's it. Safeway, Kroger, Walmart, Albertson's, Basha's etc just dumped it. Looks like rye will be going the way of the Dodo pretty soon if people don't start buying it.

Yeah, locally here, the only mainstream market that carries rye is Harris Teeter. Kroger, Food Lion none of them carry it. Whole Foods might have it, but honestly I rarely go there because well, they're quite a bit above my price range for practically any grocery I buy.
but it is the only place I can get whole rye, spelt, Kamut and farro berries after Sprouts dropped them. Winco has wheat berries at half the cost of WF. I keep trying to get the Winco folks to carry the other whole berries but so far no luck. There are way too few of us making bread at home to have people that will cater to us at a price that doesn't make you feel a bit ripped off and taken advantage of. Sadly, artisan bakeries that sell their upscale bread, at very little price fremium over the store brands at the supermarkets, do not help to get peopleto bake bread at home either - when they can buy a decent loaf at $2.99.
I can usually find Hodgson Mills stone ground rye flour in Price Chopper or Hy-Vee supermarkets, much like thihal123 mentions. That's about it. Whole Foods also has rye flour but I don't shop there often enough to know what brand.

If you want bulk or a bunch of stuff call ahead and the will put it together for you. I just got 50 lbs of their whole rye (organic) quality stuff at reasonable prices...The best part is no shipping!
Looks like today's bake is getting pushed off until tomorrow... :-(
Lithuania, you'll see at least 4-5 whole rye brands in any supermarket. There is some difficulty finding medium or light rye, but whole rye is good quality (as far as I can tell) and cheap (about 2LTL or $0.77 for a kilo, less if buying in bulk).
Maybe if there are any Eastern European stores near where you live you could check them out. I'm positive they'll have some whole rye flour.
Sounds like a great idea! This reminds me that I THINK there is an Eastern European deli/supermarket somewhere in the Triangle region. I've been meaning to visit it but forgot about it until now.
