Sourdough Pancakes and Cranberry Bars - Valentine's Day Baking
Sending this to Yeastspotting.
Sourdough pancakes are a great way to use up leftover sourdough starters, I "roughly" followed the recipe here. As long as the consistency is about right, I vary liquid type/ratio a bit each time according to what I have on hand.
I got roses (in the background), husband got fluffy pancakes. OK, fine, I got some of those pancakes too.
Actually, I baked something else more "Valentine-ish" too -- cranberry curd walnut shortbread bars.

Sweet but a little sour, just like love...
eggs and oil, I find this batter to be too thin for the kind of pancakes we like and add some flour to thicken it up so the batter doesn't spread as much in the pan - but that is how we prefer it .
Sweet with a little sour describes; love, cranberry bars and apprentices too! More sweet than sour though.
I wish I had seen those for Valentines! How beautifull and I just love cranberry. Sound delicious. im going to file these away for a special occasion.
Very beautiful and perfect, as usual, txfarmer! I would be interested in trying the recipe of the cranberry curd-walnut bars. Have you published it in some place?
The recipe link is in the original post. Above 2nd last picture.
Thank you very much, txfarmer. Sorry haven't seen it before. I will try to bake these cookies shortly.
