I feel it necessary to say that I really do bake bread. Just look at some of my other posts :) I'm defensive because my last post was pizza and this one is chocolate babka. Thanks Stuart and dabrownman. I've tried a bunch of different recipes but this one is the best. Believe it or not, it's Martha Stewart's, or maybe her mother's. The recipe is quite long and involved. You can find it by searching "babka" on www.smittenkitchen.com or http://leitesculinaria.com
The amounts of butter and chocolate called for in the recipe are not a mistake - I had my doubts the first time I made the recipe because there is so much of each called for. The chocolate drizzle on top was my own idea. I like the look.
