Stuffed herb bread with mozzarella, onion, roasted peppers and chicken strips
Hello and Merry Christmas to all, today I made my take on a recipe posted by dstroy. I wanted to try a savory braid in the vain of the cream cheese and blueberry braid. On Floyed advice I decided to go with a lean dough for the bread. So I improvised on dstroy"s Stromboli recipe. I used a mixed Italian dried herb, fresh garlic and a table spoon of olive oil in the dough. For the filling I grilled some chicken strips in olive oil sauteed some onion and garlic in the same pan. I added mozzarella cheese and red peppers. The first one in my haste I forgot the second layer of cheese and the peppers. They taste great and spicy oh I also put red pepper flakes in the dough. This is for sure a keeper for me. I plan on freezing some for my wife to take to work for lunch.
please post your actual recipe. this looks & sounds yummy.

For the filling I lightly breaded & fried some chicken strips I cut from boneless breasts. I used very little oil and just browned the chicken. I sauted two onions in the same pan till just translucent. Then i put down a layer of mozzarella cheese then the onion then the chicken then the rosted red pepers then another layer of cheese
Good luck enjoy
