sourdough at Rio City Cafe
I went to Rio City Cafe in Old Sacramento last night with some friends. Among other food, we had two bread dishes that were just terrific, while we watched the Christmas boat parade on the river.
First, the dinner rolls were soft and poofy inside, with a light shiny crust, and they were very sour. Tasted maybe more like vinegar than sourdough.
Second, the sourdough cheese roll appetizer was great. It's a boule cut up not quite through the bottom crust, with a heap of cheese and herbs melted on top, and olive oil and vinegar on the plate. I'm going to try and recreate this.
