FYI-trader joes shoppers

Just wanted to pass on some info, I shop almost exclusively at Trader Joes (Ilove that store) anyway they have 5 lb bags of KA flour (AP & Whole Wheat)  for $3.99, so far its the best deal I have found, even cheaper than smart and final.

Just thought I would share in case you hadn't checked there flour price.

Great!  There is one right down the road from my house.  Was this a special or their regular pricing?

Trader Joes is dropping KA flour and replacing it with their own house brand, per the KAF website.

I imagine the sale is special pricing to get it all off their shelves.

That's their regular price here in Los Angeles.  I've been buying it there for a few years now.  It used to be $2.49!  The good old days...

About them changing to their own label - at first I thought Oh No!, but many of their store products are quite good, so I guess we'll have to try it and see.  Also, they are very protective of concealing who make their products for them.

I've never seen KA there.  I seldom shop there, because they don't carry very much in the way of staples, at all.  Great for cheap wine and frozen fish, as well as small bags of real charcoal in the summer; not competitive for anything else.

My TJ's carries AP and WW, but not Bread.

My local supermarket has been selling all varieties for $3.60 for quite a while now. I do wish I did not have to drive two hours to the nearest TJ though.

I guess my local Trader Joe is a small store.  There's just about nothing there for bakers.  Everything is for people who want good food and want it now (or at least with minimal effort).
