Don't cut raisin bread with meat slicer

It makes a gooey mess of the blade and an awful lot of raisins on the counter.

I made raisin bread in my old Oster 5838-33, just because Yippee has been doing a fair bit of basic Zo baking this week. This machine--at one time, I had three--consistently turns out nice bread. Recipe came from chatbot, with request for 1-1/2lb loaf and all-milk. Recipe was nothing special. Top crust setting was medium.

than Zojirushi, I think, and that fine crumb is perfect for sandwich bread!  I’ve really started to appreciate the convenience of a bread machine after the basic white bread turned out so well.

Nice, consistent browning! Very unusual for a machine that has a large viewing window in the lid. Was there a lot of sugar in the recipe?

Since it was a one-off bot recipe I didn't keep it, but I think 2T brown sugar and another couple Tbsps of white added with raisins.

Even plain white loaves with little sugar brown well in this machine. Often I set the crust to light.

Your slicing remark made me laugh - each time that  I  dissemble the very sharp blade from the meat slicer after a messy bread slicing (due to rye, choc chip, figs,  etc) , I think that I can do hand slices just as well.  But no, not quite!

It's great to see the beautifully browned loaves from the bread machines!  Slices look yummy!

I actually really like watching people using meat slicer for bread. It seems very adrenaline pumping. Like, who knows slicing bread can be excitingly life-threatening 😆

NGL, this sounds like something my ex would do.

He’s an engineer.  Those people are scary.
