Why is it on my laptop ads are a minimum and not intrusive whereas on my android phone I have ads popping up all over the place?
What can I do to minimise this on my phone? Is there a setting, extension or preferred browser? Right now I am using chrome on my phone but also use it on my laptop!
Maybe Chrome's settings are different on the two devices? At any rate, my Android uses DuckDuckGo as a browser (DDG has a browser & a search engine) and I get no ads whatsoever on this site. Apparently, DDG blocks trackers that are associated with ads. I have no ad blocker app on my phone.
Never heard of DDG but if it blocks all ads it'll have a new fan. I'm going to download it.
The browser has a feature called Duck Player which allows you to watch youtube videos without ads.
I call YouTube 'AdTube'.
You get to see a bit of a video between Ads.
Thank you, Moe.
I'll let you know how it works.
This is what I see, and of course the picture won’t load. I must be doing something wrong
I see ads popping down from the top and up from the below. Also many ads within comments.
Sometimes I'm reading a comment and think that's a weird thing to post and them realise I'm reading an Ad.
I signed in to right the comment and now realise the Ads have gone.
Most of the time I'm browsing and only sign in to interact when I need to.
Thanks!
Now I feel like a numpty. Still going to download the browser Moe advised as it seems to help with other sites.
I stay signed in, but the odd occasion that I'm booted out, I still don,'t get ads, so ddg should work when you're not signed in too.
