Is it okay to put mineral oil on my wooden peel?

Toast

Normally, I would not ask this question as most wood could use mineral oil every now and then.

I'm afraid breads won't easily slide off the wood peel if oiled.  Has anyone put mineral oil on their wooden peels?

Here's a page that says that tung oil is better than mineral oil, if you decide to oil a peel.  OTOH, the page is written by a company that makes a tung oil food-safe product...

Tung oil dries like linseed oil to give a hard glazed film  - I wouldn't use it on a peel.

In fact I wouldn't put any oil on a peel. Oil is only needed for protection in wet situations - not something a  peel normally experiences.

I would just use some fine semolina mixed with rice flour on the peel before putting your dough on.
