It is sold in the US under the Elite Gourmet brand, model EBM-8103B. I found one brand new at a thrift shop two months ago for $14. It's an ok machine, good for basic sandwich bread. Not so good for denser recipes, though. I mosly use it to make jam, which it does superbly.

Bakes a good basic sandwich loaf and makes excellent jam. For $14 you've got an endless supply of jam sandwiches. Can't go wrong. Must say, from what I saw, it made a nice French white loaf, wasn't too impressed with the other denser recipes and intrigued by the rice bread.

Thanks, Abe, fun to watch while my weekly bread is in the oven.

It isn't that bad. If the French bread works a treat then one can build different recipes around that using it as a template. What was curious is the copious amount of yeast used. Half the breads practically jumped out of the machine.

Glad you enjoyed it while your bread was baking, Richard.

The recipes appear to be different in the US version. Not nearly so much yeast.

I cringed when I saw him fish the cake out with a metal paddle  :(

I agree, for basic bread it's a heckuva deal for the price.
