Equipex convection oven

Hi,

I have a budget of about $1000 and found this Equipex half-size Countertop convection oven. This is the oven's website

Dimensions: Interior: 181⁄2 in. W x 141⁄2 in. D x 131⁄2 in. H, 4 half-size sheet pan capacity. Max temp 570F

I'm pretty new to baking, but my 24" gas oven is falling apart so it is time for a new oven. I'm very interested in this one because it is 120V. Anyone experience with these types of ovens or anyone an idea if this would be a good purchase? Would I be able to bake 6 small boules in this oven?

Thanks in advance!

Steven,  not familiar with that brand, but looks similar to a Cadco ( though slightly different dimensions and layout )  The Cadco has excellent temperature control, but some believe that convection is not ideal for artisan loaves.  As to how many you can bake,  measure you boule and add an inch or two to allow for loading , and see how many will fit on a half sized sheet tray.   This is the equivalent Cadco  -OV013  This is the same size but has a water pump, according to the manual, you put the hose from the pump into a bucket, and when you press the button it injects water  ( it says steam in the manual, though it is really just injecting water ) and it does not have  a way to seal the oven, so not sure this is a great solution.   516-XAF113.html   In my area, it is pretty easy to find used Cadco's  at a decent price.

Thanks Barry good to know! I'm based on a tiny island in the Caribbean. So bad decisions can cost a lot of money, I will look deeper into the Cadco and alternatives.

Steven,  so that means finding a used Cadco is probably not in the cards.   Which island?  I am huge fan of the Caribbean.

Saba! Very small, top of a volcano, if only I could use it as my oven :)

Familiar with the island, the airport is well known.  I stay in St. Martin when I can, which is only a short distance away.   The volcano would present some interesting challenges as an oven, though probably plenty of steam.
