hello! new baker incoming

Greetings! I'm a newbie sourdough enthusiast from the midwestern United States. I love cooking, baking, and borrowing way too many items at a time from my local library. Sourdough is my newest hobby, and I am delighted to find that the bread community on the internet has many friendly and helpful folks.

I have two sourdough starters.

Abram/Abraham/Abe is fed with 50% whole wheat flour and 50% AP flour. He is named for the biblical figure in the Old Testament who was told by God that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. Abe has already produced 6 beginners loaves with varying success, but all have been delicious.

Madam Hooch is fed with whole wheat flour. She is named as a cheeky reference to the liquid atop a hungry starter and also after the Quidditch coach/referee at Hogwarts. Madam Hooch is still quite young, so she hasn't been incorporated into a loaf yet, but she looks forward to it!

Welcome to the forums! I am also a newer member of the forums and newer sourdough enthusiast. I'm from the Midwest US but live on the East Coast now. I love the names of your starters! I haven't named mine yet, but she's a 100% hydration rye starter and she'll be a year old in a few months!
