Who Knew!

I really need to get out more! Took a walk to Bleecker street for Rocco's Pastries, look who opened up right next door!

before their divorce, we'd amble down there on "every" trip to NY from 2 Fifth.  And always overdo it.

There's a wholesale only branch down this way.  Two years ago Abe and I took a field trip there in the late hours to watch the operation in progress.  With prior permission granted, of course.  As I recall, they do no levains!

Seeing Sullivan St. sign, made me think back to J.H.S.  when I worked for more than a few different retail small businesses. I immediately felt like walking in, politely asking the owner if they needed help! These memories also bring to mind, my feelings about a current hot button political issue. However, I digress and am not going to get into that here. I am not 100% sure but I think Amy's bread which was across the street closed? My eye was fixed at the long line for Murry's cheese, but I don't think I saw Amy's? Maybe That's why Mr. Lahey, decided on this new location? What are your thoughts on Rocco's? I think it is up near the top of the Italian bakers in NYC.

P.S. I used google to confirm Amy's Bleecker is permanently closed.

The selection is eye-popping and I feel as though I just put on 2 lbs. by walking through the door.  The times we go it is usually to meet someone else.  Cakes, cannelloni, etc. are all top notch, but... The place is way too bright, and too big - the opposite of intimate, and I don't like sharing the table with strangers when it gets crowded.
