Does anyone know where to buy a bread knife that looks like a hacksaw? I searched the internet to no avail.

Many years ago I watched someone use it to slice crusty bread and it was so easy- no mess, and no 'crushing'.

Many thanks.

Google "bread knife bow saw" and you will get a number of references. Here is one from the UK.

Although now you have me wondering how a plain old coping saw with a fine-tooth blade would work...

Sph- that's the exact one! Thank you so much.

I googled bread saws, bread knives, etc but never bread knife bow saws...

Now I will look at coping saws too- but the above saw was a marvel in cutting fresh baked bread.

SPH,

I got so excited, I didn't look as closely as I should have - the one I'm talking about did not have a serrated blade, it had a very thin 'wire' as a blade, but otherwise looked the same. I will check the web site further.

From what I could gather this particular type seems to come from the UK, so you might try search engines specific to that region.

I had one sounds similar to the one you are looking for.

Mine must  have been  very very old,  it was my mums before I had it, but it did a good job, and then my dear husband broke the blade of it, using it to pry something open.... I was not pleased. ..... qahtan
