let us know, I think all of us would have to have one as well! And well... you know how it is, we would all then want a "just a nibble key" also. Maybe Floyd could email us the nibbles with our daily updates! Wow just think of the possibilities....they could arrive just in time for morning coffee! You know years ago everyone thought that by the year 2000 all those things would be possible.! Too bad it ain't. That monkey bread looked dear to my heart! ( and rear end!)

June, you make a mean looking monkey bread!

Howard, with all your connections at the Space Center would you please get on that food replicator project. How hard could it be? Wm Shatner had one years ago.

We're counting on you Howard!

I'm working the problem as best I can.  I know how important this food/bread replicator project is to the craft.  If I don't get any response from Shatner by the end of the day I'll try to get hold of Scotty and maybe he can beam Shatner down so I can talk to him.  Shatner needs to forget about hawking those cheap plane tickets and give this project his full time and attention :>)

It was delicious!  I did it the half lazy way and let the bread machine knead and rise the dough.  I just formed them in into balls, rolled them in the rest of the ingredients and baked it!

I had always wondered if the movie would have taken a different turn if the monkeys in the opening scene would have had a big loaf of monkey bread instead of rocks and clubs.

The first time I had some, I was 11 and it was at a birthday party. Anyone know the name of monkey bread before someone watching kids devour it around a table, decided to appropriately rename it?

Hi, Mini O.

I seem to recall having this from a local bakery as a younger person too. My recollection is that we called it a "Pull-Apart."

I've never made Monkey Bread but I have Mastercook, an applications software package containing hundreds of Betty Crocker prize winning recipes.  Incidentally, I'm coming out of the closet on this Betty Crocker thing and would appreciate discretion on this sensitive issue.  Anyway, here's a recipe that's I found on the Internet that is identical to the Betty Crocker recipe with 32 balls of dough and maple syrup over the top with walnuts (I think).  I imagine it's close to what's in the photo.

Good luck.
