Sassafras stoneware dual loaf baker

Hello everyone!

I bought this baker second-hand for $10 a few years ago; however, it's never seen the inside of my oven.  Since I'm still waffling about whether or not to give it a new home, I wanted to find out if anyone has or still does use this and would pass along their experience and opinion - good, bad, or otherwise.

I have a single sassafras and very happy with it , and baked some lovely loaves in it. I haven't seen a siamese twin before do you have the lid as well?

Hi Yozzause!

Thanks very much for commenting, particularly since you've had good results.  I suppose I really should try it at least once to see how I make out before making a final decision - certainly like the size.  No, unfortunately, there was no lid included.  I know I can work around that, but it would have been great to have one.

Is there a particular type of bread you prefer to bake in the Sassafras?  I've got a deli rye recipe I think might turn out well.
