Is it ok to use clay loaf pan for a bannaton?

I only have one bannaton, and have two clay loaf pans.  The pans and bannaton are about the same size - couldn't I use the loaf pan?  A bit heavy, but in a pinch...    :-)

As long as you can easily remove the bread, I'm sure it would be fine---I've used bannetons, bowls, and a great variety of other vessels without issue

I’ve had second thoughts about the idea... the clay pans are pretty heavy and wouldn’t allow for way maneuvering around the hot oven. Guess I’ll just have to get another basket ?

If you line the pan with a clean handkerchief and sprinkle with flour, you should be able to invert the loaf onto whatever you are using as a peel.

like tissue boxes, open the cupboard and take a good hard look at the box containers,  you can cut and staple some down to the size you like or put some together.  Sieves, colanders, hang the dough in a cloth swing dish towel tied from one door handle to another.  Have you washed your ski cap yet?  Line it and use it.  Straw hat?
