Ahh, Sourdough ...

Tonight's dinner is grilled cheese on home baked bread.  The pot on the back of the stove is a homemade tomato ginger soup which I made from our garden tomatoes canned last fall...

I hadn’t seen a set up like yours to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Very nice!

Perfect for a chilly, damp day.

I sure like your griddle setup!

How is it that one never tires of homemade sourdough toasted cheese sandwiches? We use Tillamook cheddar from Oregon and sometimes with soup though fresh young organic green salads with dressing and garlic croutons usually fill out the bill. How are the cheese sandwiches dipped into the tomato - ginger soup? That's an interesting flavor pairing I'll have to try...,

Yes, this was a blend of Tillamook cheddar and Scandic Farmer's Cheese.

Agree that a green salad with vinaigrette is a good companion.  We had finished the last of our lettuce at lunch that day, and I was too lazy that afternoon to go out and get more.   It was a wet and windy day, which made dinner all the more satisfying.

The sandwich dipped in the tomato-ginger soup is delicous, and my preferred method of eating it.   :)

PS:  If you ever are in the Tillamook area, the cheese factory offers tours.
