Sourdough Bread Makes a Great Gift

Sorry I haven't posted for some time as I have been busy with the holidays and visiting family (they are still here!)  I did bake a number of loaves of bread as gifts for friends, and that seemed to go over well.

I will have to get back to more baking when I have the kitchen back to myself. Thanks for all the wonderful advice, guidance and support throughout this year.  I talk about my bread friends to my family and friends all the time.  You are all such inspirations and give me such great ideas.  I have so many breads on my list to bake in 2015, it is difficult to know where to start. For now, I've got to get going and make dinner!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and all the best to everyone for a fantastic 2015.  I really look forward to your posts throughout the year.  Phyllis

I have really appreciated all of your great posts as well, and, as you know, have tried a few of your recipes.  I got one of the porridge breads right after a bit of first loaf challenge!  I have a couple of yours on my list for 2015.  Thanks for all of your encouragement and support--I really appreciate it.  Hope you enjoyed the holidays and all the best for a wonderful 2015.  Can't wait to see what you will be baking...Best,  Phyllis

If your friends did not appreciate your gorgeous breads, it would be time to get friends with better taste!

David:  Thanks so much for all of your wonderful breads and very instructive posts.  I try to follow your lead in many of my bakes.  I totally stole your scoring technique and now I use it all the time.  I still have family visiting and may try your famous baguettes before they leave!  Hope you had a great holiday and have a very happy new year.  Look forward to your posts in 2015.  Best,  Phyllis

I am looking forward to trying some new recipes and returning to some old favorites in 2015.  I have been making a lot of classic sourdoughs, and I need to get out of my current rut. Thanks for your kind words and hope you have a wonderful 2015.  Best, Phyllis

Lucky friends.  I know your loaves are excellent and nothing beats a homemade gift in my book!

Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing what you bake this coming new year - which I can't believe is upon us so soon.  Seems like it was just New Years a couple of months ago….time certainly does fly by.

Take Care,

Janet.

Carissima Phyllis,

dabrownman:  Thanks, as always, for your support and encouragement.  I am headed to the UK early in the year, so will revive my starter and get to it as soon as I can.  I'll try to get some baking done here in CA before I go. Hope you, Lucy and your family have a very happy new year.  I am sure you will have some wonderful posts for us in 2015!   I will continue to learn from you and enjoy all your wonderful cooking as well.  Best,  Phyllis
