I grind whole barely that I get from a brewing store, they're not at all like the wheat berries one buys, there's still a fair bit of hull around it. I add only about 1/4 cup do don't at all mind the extra bran, just not sure if there are any issues for esophagus or bowels in consuming such possibly sharp materials.

I grind using Kitchen Aid grinder, not a real one but gets me something usable. I then add the ground meal to the water I will use in the bread, to presoak and soften. Is this safe?
