Using garbage cans to store flour

I was considering buying some large plastic garbage cans to store at least 50 lbs of flour.  Just your average garbage can.  Is there any reason why I shouldn't?

there is a reason. Garbage cans are not made of food safe materials. Get 5 gallons buckets that are food safe. Home Depot carries them. You’ll probably need 3 for 50 lbs.

You can buy a scoop for a couple bucks and put the whole bag (including the bag) in the can.

You only need 2 5 gal buckets for 50 lbs. They'd be a lot easier to get to the bottom and move around than a trash can. I also use gamma lids and they stack nicely if needed.
