...is that you seem to think that making a cake in eight minutes is somehow admirable or desirable. It isn't.

Yes, time is valued hereabouts but as an ingredient, not as something to be saved.

"pour […] gentaly [sic]"? You'd think someone would bother to proof the title cards on a professional production from the cooking channel.

Do the times of preparing the mise en place and mixing (2min) not count? Whoa, it's more than a dozen minutes now. Oh, where has the day gone?

Actually, this looks like link spamming to me.

...you wasted so much time on it. ;-)

I can make cold cereal in 17 seconds, and will put it up against your cake any day.

Please forgive them, they are jealous of your excitement.  But I understand where they are coming from.  When I pull up the link, I'm hit with a noisy propaganda reel.  Very irritating.  Was that planned or tacked on to your film?  My problem with this size cake is that I tend to eat it all when it is made too fast.

What you have discovered is the famous "cup" cake.  Not a bad place to start as a beginner.  The recipe has been twisted and tweaked to hundreds of quick cakes and even doubled and tripled.  If you put the measurements onto a scale you will quickly come up with a basic cake formula.  (although I find it short on eggs and high in baking powder)

You can also add nuts, trade out flours, or oils, add dried or fresh fruit,  use yogurt or milk, etc.  :)

It may take only 8 minutes to nuke it but it does take longer to grab stuff from the cupboard and bake the thing in a normal oven. Regular Oven temp 150°C for various pan sizes and times.   (I did one last edit after seeing the film to the end... the first ads change with each pull up on Youtube.)
