I am curious as to what lubricant other DLX owners are using to lubricate the pin that holds the roller in place so that it can spin on the spring-loaded arm??..Food grade mineral oil??..Mine is getting a bit stiff to slide up and down within the sleeve in the arm, and I need to purchase some lubricant..
Thanks, Bruce

DLX Mixer lube
Bruce,
I would look at the plastic bearing surface inside the roller and try to find a gentle way to clean it. If yours is getting tight I would guess it has a thin layer of foreign material or perhaps the plastic has become galled and is no no longer smooth. A drop of mineral oil wouldn't hurt, especially because of the fact that the bottom of the roller is a sealed unit. If the pin isn't smooth, maybe it was defective and has been chewing away at the bearing surface. I have never heard of any similar issue with the DLX.

I Am Not Having Problems With The Roller
Eric
My roller is fine, no problems whatsoever with it..It is the pin, as it slides up and down within the friction-fit sleeve inside of the spring-loaded arm that I desire to lubricate..In other words, I am having some difficulty in pushing the pin through the arm into the roller to install it; and conversely I am having some difficulty in pulling the pin up through the arm in order to release the roller for bowl removal, and cleaning..It is requiring a bit more force to install, and remove, the roller than when the DLX was newer..

Oh boy, I don't know
I didn't understand where the binding is. There is a snap ring in there somewhere I had to fool with once. Maybe it's out of place. Just a thought.
Eric
never had this problem
Since everything is pretty visible you've probably checked and cleaned it numerous times, but I don't understand why it would start to bind up unless something has become trapped there. Why not try some relatively clean vegetable oil. It may loosen something you have not seen.
