47 years old now and forgetting but as a child I was fluent in Arabic.
Much of my cooking is still from what I was taught long ago.

So ,let me say that we are relatives, we love lebanon and lebanese people are the cutest people I ever met, Try to remember some of your arabic words ,it is nice to find someone on the forum who can speak a little bit of arabic.
but you know Mark that "laban"in lebanese current language means "yoghurt" and "laban" is in ours means "milk"which is "halib"in libanese.

Yes as a child I made fresh Laban many times and as you know we always ejoyed it with fresh bread, Khobaz, Khobaz wa Fatayer. Mmmmmm
As you probably know our families split with the wars in Lebanon, some came to Detroit the rest to parts of Brazil.
I do have some family from Egypt, Michaels and Abraham.
Sito was Julia Michaels, the most kind woman I have ever known and a baker her entire life.
