Twin arm/ diving arm mixer question

Toast

I recently acquired a Moretti twin arm mixer at auction.

I plugged it in a few days ago and to my surprise it is moving at very high speed.

It was wired for 3 phase.

I checked and it looks like there is only 1 speed to it,( just ON/OFF switch) which I would think would be slow but it almost seems as it would be on 2nd speed.

The other switch I have in simply a forward and backward rotation for the arms.

I'm thinking there might be an electrical issue but I'm no specialist on that.

If anyone could help or give insight it would be great.

Thank you

J

In what country do you live and is the mixer wired for your country? It's unusual to be able to plug a 3-phase device into a one-phase outlet and their voltages can be different. Or are you using a 3-phase outlet? Also, there are two ways to connect the phases in a 3-phase line.  I'm not sure what would happen if an outlet were wired one way and the appliance the other, but too much voltage could be applied and that could burn out the windings.  That could explain the high speed.
Here's a page that shows how to connect the windings or the terminal, if you are able to change the connections -

Thank you so much for reaching back to me Tom.

I'm in the US. It is a 3 phase outlet, not 1 phase.

I'm going to read thru this and talk to my contractor. He was the one that wired the mixer.

I'll update you after.

Thank you
