K5SS hit the ground, Bushing cap cracked, now mixer is rough

the mixer fell from about 3ft  and I cracked the motor bush cap that screws on the side of the mixer. I then used tape to hold the motor bush in place. The mixer starts but runs rough. It now causes the GFCI outlet to trip. It was running fine before the fall and cracked cap. Can the lack of the bush cap cause the rough performance?

The mixed dropped during painting... I had it hanging to paint and it felt about 3 ft with the attachment part hitting the ground "nose first". So I wonder if the fall could have caused gears to move.

it's a second hand Hobart K5SS. I was all happy giving it a new look. I am handy and willing to make it work but I don't want to spend more money fixing a mixer than what a new one costs... I am in Hawaii so servicing machines at a shop is very expensive here.

 Thanks,

Alberto

Update: I disassembled the mixer and did a renovation job.

There was a loose nut in the motor area, which was probably the cause for the rattling noise because the part that's spins was hitting the "radiator".

The grease was "rock hard" and that's probably what was causing jamming gears.

after re greasing and adjustments, the mixer works great! $110 total cost. $70 used mixer, $13 paint, $27 grease.

I am holding the brush with electrictape until I get a brush cap :D.

Mr. Mixer YouTube videos were incredibly helpful!
