"But I'm not dead yet!"

Although my overall baking activity is less than it used to be, I have made some breads recently.

First up, cranberry-orange cream cheese braids. These were donated to a fundraising cookie walk that our local Friends of the Library held.

I also baked some small sweet vanilla challot yesterday that will be gifted to friends:

The cream cheese braid was one of the first loaves of bread I made when I first joined the bread club!

And others', apparently, since they sold in the first 15 minutes.

Good to see you are still keeping your "hand in". The loaves look delicious.

Cheers,

While I won't get to eat any of these breads, I know from previous experience that they are a delight.

Paul your bakes look wonderful.  As you know I love cranberry orange having used that flavour combination many times, but your addition of the cream cheese should up the ante even more.  The braiding looks really attractive as well.

I consolidated information from Floyd's original post.  You can find it here; it includes the cranberry-orange filling.  Have fun with it.

Beautiful bakes. Friends of the Library and friends of yours must have been delighted to have them!

The braids were the first to go in the opening minutes of the sale, even with a $15 price tag on each of them.

It looks like your new kitchen is up and running very well.

It would be a real disappointment if we didn't, since we set it up the way we wanted.  What really helps is having the walk-in pantry, a first for us.

How are you doing, Jim?  This is the first I've seen you surface in quite a while.  I hope you are still enjoying your retirement.

You certainly haven’t lost your beat😆.  The lucky recipients must have enjoyed them.

Happy holidays!

One our nieces requested cinnamon rolls and ciabatta, so I was able to make those, as well. I didn’t think to take pictures before she picked them up.

I hope your Christmas was delightful.

Hi Paul! I, too, have almost no time to bake and post these days. Glad to see you here again, I must try a sweet cream cheese bread someday. Cheers!

It has been quite a while since I’ve seen anything from you so this is a pleasant surprise.  I hope all is well with you.
