flour in Muncie Indiana
Hello! I am attempting to teach my young friend in Muncie a basic white bread via zoom but I live in Canada and I am completely unfmiliar with the brands of flour available there.I am looking for decent one that I can get without her having to order it and wait weeks for shipping. (I think they have amazon prime and that is quick) Any suggestions?
Walmart and Meier are in Muncie Indiana. They are major grocery and dept stores. They should carry Gold Medal and King Arthur.
King arthur AP: 11.5% protein. King Arthur Bread: 12.7%.
Gold Medal AP: about 10.5%, I think, don't hold me to it. Gold Medal Bread: 12%.
I live in rural Indiana myself.
Meijer's (there's a 'j') definitely is going to be the largest grocery store option in the area:

They have their own label of flour, and there's also Gold Medal flour which would be a step up, but they do carry King Arthur Flour ("KAF") as well, so that's what I recommend she look for.
I believe Target also carries KAF, if she's used to that store.
There's also a lovely family-owned mill over the border in central (rural) Illinois that ships for a reasonable price and speed:

I might recommend that for now she go to a physical store first to get started, but Janie's Mill flour will improve ANY bread recipe when she wants to get serious about it.
Oh, and Amazon carries KAF as well, and so she might even get it with Prime (free) shipping and overnight, I don't know.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the correction on Meijer.
I answered the original post without realizing that there were any other replies. I apologize if I made you think I was specifically responding to you. We've both got info that can help the original poster....there's no competition!
I _am_ that guy that corrects other people's spelling. :-)
Actual LOL here!
Thanks to you both! this is precisely the information I was looking for!
