Braun food processor experiences?

I am very inexperienced with the most popular mixers among the contributors to this site, the ones that get all the "press" on a daily basis. (KitchenAid, Ankarsrum, and Bosch are the three that come to mind first.) I understand well enough what's going on with each of them, but I've never had my hands on them. (OK, I had my hands literally "on" a friend's very pretty-looking KA, but I never used it to make bread.)

But here I have (acquired unbelievably cheap and in great condition) this Braun K1000, the older type with the plastic bowl. Anyone with experience to share, or reliable reports, about using it for bread? (For example "It's great, I used mine yesterday", or "Forget it, they burn out immediately", or whatever else.) I've searched online and found only sparse mention of them, mostly very positive, but maybe those positive reports are from people who were trying hard to make themselves feel better about their purchase.
